Free Windows XP upgrade to enhance security for Wi-Fi users
Posted on 2-Apr-2003 07:33 | Tags Filed under: News

Microsoft released an update with the new WPA (Wi-Fi Protectect Access) for Windows XP.

WPA replaces the weak Wired Equivalent Privacy encryption protocol with Temporal Key Integrity Protocol. This features a stronger encryption algorithm and allows for the automatic generation and distribution of keys.

The Microsoft Knowledge Base article # 815485 (link below) contains the full description of changes and access to this download.
