Sprint and Sanyo are introducing a series of mobile phones inspired on the legendary Katana, a precision instrument sword used by the Samurai. An ultra-thin mobile phone featuring Bluetooth wireless technology and a built-in camera, designed to appeal to the fashion-centric consumer.
Making its debut throughout the month of July in four colours, including Mystic Black, Blue Sapphire, Cherry Blossom Pink, and Polar White, which is a color that will be sold exclusively at RadioShack, the Katana will be available at Sprint Stores, online and at select third-party retailers for US$279.99 or US$79.99 after rebates with a two-year subscriber agreement.
The Sanyo Katana comes in an ultra-thin clamshell design with internal antenna. The built-In VGA camera can capture images up to 480 x 640 pixelsm, and it also sports a built-in speakerphone.
The phone is compatible with Sprint PCS Vision services, so consumers can download images, ringtones, games, and other applications, plus Sprint PCS Picture Mail and SMS.
