The world's largest Etch A Sketch made its debut at SIGGRAPH 2006, the 33rd International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Boston.
Pictured is Terrence Masson, SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival Chair from Digital Fauxtography Inc., who leads approximately 3,000 audience members as they collaborate in drawing on the giant device.
This technology allows approximately 3,000 audience members to control (in real-time) the two famous Etch A Sketch drawing knobs and use them interactively. Functionality will also include the audience's ability to "shake" the screen clean and start again with a blank canvas.
Officially endorsed by The Ohio Art Company, the installation is in use before the curtain rises on the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival.
The SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival features approximately 100 films and videos by some of the world's most creative scientists, animators, VFX specialists, educators, studios, and students from 40 countries.
SIGGRAPH 2006 will bring an estimated 25,000 computer graphics and interactive technology professionals from six continents to Boston, USA for the industry's most respected technical and creative programs focusing on research, entertainment, science, art, animation, gaming, interactivity, education, and the web from 30 July to 3 August 2006.
