Vodafone New Zealand Signs Wholesale Agreement With More Providers

Posted on 17-Aug-2006 16:00 | Filed under: News

Vodafone New Zealand has signed wholesale agreements with Orcon Internet, Compass Communications and M2 Telecommunications Group as part of its ongoing work in New Zealand’s mobile industry.

Vodafone New Zealand’s General Manager Commercial Development, Tom Chignell, says the deals allow all three players to enter the mobile market by reselling Vodafone’s wholesale services.

“We have had a number of requests for deals, particularly from Internet Service Providers and tier 2/3 carriers wanting to bundle their services and add value to their existing offers in the market. We want to be the network of choice to those wanting to diversify their offering.

He says the deals with Orcon and Compass will enable the companies to branch out into mobile phone and data services in 2007.

“The agreement with the Australian-based M2 will enable the company, which is currently providing fixed line services, to further establish its foothold in the New Zealand market with the provision of mobile services,” says Chignell.
