Microsoft Releases Free Windows Mobile Network Analyzer PowerToy for Windows Mobile Devices
Microsoft has released the Network Analyzer for Windows Mobile, a collection of network utilities. The tool collects ipconfig information and tests connectivity by issuing ping requests to specific web servers. Network Analyzer for Windows Mobile facilitates the troubleshooting of network connectivity issues, and can be extended through user-defined tests (DLLs).

An xml input file defines the list of tests to execute. IT technicians and users can run the Network Analyzer for Windows Mobile to send information about network traffic to a .cap file. You can then view the .cap file with the Network Monitor tool or the Ethereal tool.

Results are stored in a local .log file and viewed through Internet Explorer Mobile.

The tool runs on Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC and Smartphones.
