Toshiba Announces Gaming Notebook with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
Toshiba has announced the latest addition to its high-performance gaming notebook series with the Satellite P100-ST9742 featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

Available exclusively on-line from ToshibaDirect.com, the Satellite P100-ST9742 features a 17-inch diagonal widescreen display with 1680x1050 pixels resolution (WSXGA+) in a 7.1-pound, 1.41-inch slim notebook chassis. The notebook incorporates the Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology and the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512 GDDR3 SDRAM VRAM for delivering high-end graphics for the latest 3D games and multimedia programs, as well as a DVI-D output port to allow users to connect to an HDTV.

The Satellite P100-ST9742 includes features such as a fingerprint reader for one-touch secure access management as well as a Dual Mode touch pad that can provide one-tap short cuts to launch e-mail, an Internet browser and other selected programs, and Bluetooth v.2.0+EDR technology to connect with Bluetooth devices such as wireless gaming controls and other accessories.

The PC also includes a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive that reads and writes in up to 11 formats that can nearly double a recordable DVDís storage capacity for photo, music and video files in either DVD+R or DVD-R double layer formats. A 5-in-1 bridge media adapter reads a variety of memory cards formats (Secure Digital, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Multi Media Card, xD Picture Card), plus built-in harman/kardon stereo speakers.

The unit features Windows XP Professional operating system and is Windows Vista Premium Ready.

Other specifications include an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2, 667MHz FSB with 64-bit), Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset, PCI-Express x16 graphics subsystem, 2048MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM memory and 100GB (7200RPM) Serial-ATA (SATA) HDD.

With Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g), the new Toshiba laptop also comes with 4 USB v2.0 ports, RGB, S-Video, DVI-D, RJ-11 modem, RJ-45 LAN, i.LINK IEEE-1394, S/P DIF (shared with headphone) headphone and microphone ports.
