Yahoo! and IBM Release Free Enterprise Search Software
Yahoo! and IBM have worked together to introduce the IBM OmniFind Yahoo! Edition, a tool that enables employees, partners or customers to find answers on file-systems, intranet, or public websites.

The software is integrated with Yahoo! Search, bringin web listings directly into the search results.

Small and mid-sized businesses can install and use the IBM OmniFind Yahoo! Edition product to get access to a set of features for no charge.

The software indexes up to 500,000 documents and over 200 file types in 30 different languages. The platform provides a customisable search results interface so companies can change its look and feel, and hide some features.

Administrators can create their own featured links and other useful shortcuts.

Requirements include 32 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Version 4, Update 3), 32 bit SUSE Linux Enterprise 10, 32 bit Windows XP SP2, or 32 bit Windows 2003 Server SP1.

The minimum hardware requirements is a single processor machine, with 1GB of RAM and 80GB of disk space, but it is recommended a dual processor (3GHz) machine, with 2GB RAM for this service.
