Telecom will make "Shade" available to users of its CDMA network. The RPG game is developed by Canadian company Cosmic Infinity.
Shade is a Massive Multiplayer Wireless RPG (MMWRPG). Shade allows players to enjoy real time combat, vs. both in-world monsters and other players. The game combat and skill systems encourage a wide variety of playing styles, allowing for solo play as well as cooperative adventuring and massive inter-player battles. While straight up "hack and slash" approaches will work, strategic and cooperative play will be greatly rewarded as well.
Players are free to choose what skills they develop, where they go, and what they do. Shade features built-in Clan infrastructure, long-term character development, multiple stat tracking and reporting, player search, rich messaging and chat, and much, much more.
A huge and ever-expanding variety of enemies, towns, weapons, spells, unique items, dungeons, hidden features, and more will tempt and reward players and provide endless hours of great mobile gaming. Shade incorporates all that is good about the mobile entertainment medium and takes it all to the next level. The rich world and game systems coupled with community-building features and Cosmic's unique and innovative approach to mobile game design provide a highly compelling depth of play and a gaming experience unprecedented in the mobile gaming world.
Telecom NZ and Cosmic are running a competition to find who is the best Shade player in New Zealand. The contest kicks off April 12 at the Pop Culture Expo "Armageddon" in Auckland, New Zealand. It will run for 3 months, at the end of which the Telecom New Zealand customer with the highest level character in the game will win credits, video games, and other prizes.
To help users, there is a forum in the official website for Shade.
