Vodafone New Zealand has put up a webpage where the mobile operator lists upcoming updates that will provide support in the new operating system for its mobile data cards.
The Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) version 9 is due to be released approximately late Feb 2007, and will support a series of data cards for use with Windows Vista 32-bit. The hardware compatibility list includes the Huawei E618, Novatel U630, U740 and XU870, Option Colt.
The Vodem will also be the target of an updated driver, but with a release date expected to March 2007. The same is true for laptops with built-in 3G cards.
RIM BlackBerry users should expect an updated version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager by the end of March 2007.
Users of Windows Mobile devices need to download the Windows Mobile Device Center, recently released.
Vodafone is not currently supporting devices under Windows Vista 64 bit, but the company says it is working closely with vendors to ensure support is available at the earliest opportunity.
