NVIDIA introduces multimedia solutions for handheld devices.
NVIDIA Corporation has unveiled its new strategy to target the growing applications processor market. The NVIDIA GoForce 6100 is a highly integrated and optimised multimedia solution that consumes less than half the power of any applications processor available on the market today.

This is the company’s first in a family of applications processors. An example device is the concept using NVIDIA GoForce 6100 applications processor, designed by Quanta and pictured.

Built from the ground up to support intensive multimedia codecs as well as a high quality audio subsystem, integrated WiFi, USB 2.0 and more.

The NVIDIA GoForce 6100 also boasts low power consumption, with the company saying it uses only under half the power draw of any other applications processor in the market today.
