Telecom New Zealand Wholesale eliminates backhaul overage charges
Telecom New Zealand Wholesale has announced the company is eliminating overage data charges for UBS backhaul. This change is a result of the review of UBS backhaul arrangements conducted by the company at the end of 2006, in conjunction with industry consultation.

Telecom agrees that the 4GB and 10GB data allowances for UBS have become outdated with the launch of full speed broadband services, and it is removing the UBS data allowance caps to address the growing demands of New Zealand broadband users.

The company assures they continue to review the backhaul service structure and have started investigating the possibility of offering additional backhaul options including fixed bandwidth and third-party backhaul options that can be used by ISPs to differentiate end-user service experience.
