i-mate have announced a series of Windows Mobile devices bringing together high end specifications with mutliple configuration options. The Ultimate range consists of a collection of five devices in various form factors, from classic candybar phones to PDA to a minu notebook replacement.
The company says the Ultimate series was designed to provide the latest and best in phone and PDA technology. From the 530MHz processor, to the XGA direct video out, from HSDPA connectivity to the 262k colour VGA LCD touch screen, every component of each device is specified at a very high level.
All i-mate Ultimate devices come with either Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional or Windows Mobile 6 Standard, depending on the form factor, an Intel Bulverde 520MHz processor, 256MB ROM for storage and 128MB RAM for program execution, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/e/i), Bluetooth v2.0+EDR, mini USB 2.0 High Speed, direct video out XGA, a Micro SD card slot, 2 megapixel camera, FM stereo radio.
When combined with an account on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or newer users will benefit of direc push e-mail over the air. To support this functionality all devices connect to GSM/GPRS/EDGE quadband and UMTS/HSDPA triband.
