Are you thinking of buying a MIRA?
ZDNET posted a review of the Viewsonic viewpanel, based on the Microsoft Smart Display (MIRA) technology. A single page with lots of information for people thinking of buying the new style of cordless display for your PC.

These are not Tablet PCs. They're actually a display for your computer, with the added capability to be detached and keep communicating with the host while away. It supports Windows XP, and the communication is over Wi-Fi.

The V150's is a 15in. 1,024 by 768 resolution LCD, with a 400MHz Intel Xscale processor, cut-down Windows CE to handle communications and display, 32MB of ROM, 64MB of RAM and an 802.11b wireless system.

Perhaps someone will hack into the configuration and create a mobile device from there?
