HTC acquires Dopod and expand brand into Asia
High Tech Computer Corp. has signed an acquisition agreement with Dopod International to purchase the assets of nine Dopod subsidiaries, including Dopod Taiwan, Dopod Hong Kong, Dopod Singapore, Dopod Malaysia, Dopod Indonesia, Dopod Australia, Dopod Thailand, Dopod India, and Dopod Philippines.

Dopod International is one of the largest PDA and smartphone distributor in Asia. The transfer of all assets will become effective on 1 July 2007. HTC estimates that the total amount paid for these assets will not exceed US$14.5 million.
