Air New Zealand is announcing the appointment of Julia Raue as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Reporting to Chief Financial Officer Rob McDonald, Julia will oversee 200 IT staff nationally and manage four key portfolios including Production, Solutions, Architecture and Innovation & Ventures.
“Julia has been with Air New Zealand for eight years holding a number of different roles, and now we are pleased to appoint her as CIO,” says Mr McDonald.
“Over the past 18 months Air New Zealand has challenged investing in ready made, off-shore IT solutions and has shown faith with Kiwi innovation by supporting the development internally of systems and processes. This reflects the airline’s determination to foster an environment of technological excellence and champion the cause of local research and development.”
Ms Raue has twenty years experience in the IT industry. “I see IT as an enabler that can help the airline successfully achieve its business goals. Our goal is to continue to deliver innovative solutions which will make Air New Zealand more nimble and able to respond to changing customer needs,” she says.
