Tired of webcams? What about a SMSCam?
Think of it as a SMSCam server. Nokia launched a device that actually connects to the GSM network.

A user sends a blank SMS to the camera mobile number, and receives back an EMS with the latest image captured.

The Nokia Observation Camera takes pictures in a set interval. It'll also collect information about temperature, and has a motion sensor.

With the motion sensor, the camera can be programmed to send updated images at regular intervals. And if you dial into the camera you can hear what's going on around it.

What a great toy for security and dance clubs!

The specs are:
  • Image resolution modes at 640x480 pixels, 320x240 pixels and 160x120 pixels
  • JPEG encoding format
  • Choice of image compression rate
  • Camera angle of view: 58 degrees
  • Focus distance from 0.5 meters to infinity
  • Internal antenna
  • External antenna connector
  • GSM frequency bands: EGSM/GPRS 900/1800 MHz
