Basecamp Project Management meets Windows Mobile with TrailGuide
Carry the Day has released TrailGuide, offering Windows Mobile device users a way to manage projects and communicate with team members and clients. TrailGuide is the optimized mobile client for Basecamp, the web-based project management application by 37Signals.

TrailGuide optimises the Basecamp experience for the mobile device, letting customers access and edit their project information from a mobile device.

The company points out some key benefits of TrailGuide, including an optimised mobile application covering essential Basecamp features such as Messages, To-Do Lists, Milestones and Files more effieciently than a mobile browser. The application takes advantage of touch screens, scroll wheels, 5-way controls, back buttons and keyboards for navigation and data entry.

Customers can view and edit projects whether they are online of offline. TrailGuide uses a server to communicate between the mobile client application on the phone and Basecamp data. Communication between the TrailGuide client and the TrailGuide server - and between the TrailGuide server and Basecamp - is done via SSL security. No data is stored permanently on the TrailGuide server; the server simply acts as a go-between when TrailGuide posts new information to Basecamp that customers have entered on the phone, or updates the phone with new changes others have made on the web.
