Vodafone Group revenue grows 8%

The Vodafone Group Plc has issued an Interim Management Statement for the Q1 2007, ended 30 June 2007.

Vodafone says the group had a total revenue of £8.3 billion, representing 7.5% growth on last year, with organic growth of 4.0%. The organic service revenue growth of 1.4% for Europe and 18.2% for EMAPA.

The company has added 9.1 million mobile connections for the quarter compared with 4.8 million for the same quarter last year. Total proportionate mobile customer base at 30 June 2007 is now 232.0 million.

This total includes mobile customer base for subsidiaries and joint ventures of 200.4 million at 30 June 2007, including 30.8 million in Vodafone Essar in India.

Also in the report is the net customer additions of 1.6 million at Verizon Wireless, a U.S.-based CDMA mobile operator partially owned by Vodafone.

The 3G user based has grown by 2.6 million devices during the quarter, bringing the total 3G device base to 18.5 million. Organic growth in non-messaging data revenue of 32.2%
