Microsoft opens Open Source website

Posted on 27-Jul-2007 10:40 | Filed under: News

During the OSCON Microsoft announced a new website on Microsoft.com that outlines the company's perspective and strategy regarding the Open Source development methodology.

The community will be able to find information about a wide variety of ways that Microsoft is partnering with the Open Source community and leveraging the benefits of the Open Source development model in some key interoperability projects.

Other Microsoft site initiatives related to Open Source include Port 25 (Open Source Software Lab at Microsoft), Codeplex (Open Source project hosting site), Shared Source (set of programs for sharing source code with customers, partners, governments, researchers, etc.) and the Microsoft Open Source ISV Forum.
