Telecom New Zealand releases Okta Agent Windows Mobile Smartphone
Okta is a new brand of mobile devices being launched in New Zealand, brought to the market by Telecom New Zealand.

The operator is introducing Okta Mobiles, its own brand of mobile devices, sourced from a variety of manufacturers. The first model is the Okta Agent, a Windows Mobile Smartphone originally manufactured by Pantech.

The Okta Agent is a dual band CDMA (800/1900 MHz) mobile phone running Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone, a clamshell design measuring 98 x 53 x 20mm and weighing 112 grams including the standard battery. Users could expect up to 35 hours standby when using Microsoft Direct Push for push e-mail, or up to 140 hours with the feature off.

Users will have the standard features present on Windows Mobile, including Outlook Mobile and Pocket Internet Explorer.

With a built-in 1.3 mega pixels digital camera and Bluetooth, the Okta Agent comes with 128 MB memory for storage and can is compatible with miniSD cards for memory expansion. The Okta Agent is available now with a suggested price of NZ$ 599.

Telecom New Zealand have plans to include World Mode phones (GSM and CDMA bands) in this product line and will continue to sell handsets from other brands.
