ActionThis launches on-line project management service
ActionThis Limited has announced its project and task management service. ActionThis is a simple, web-based team management solution that helps teams and small businesses get things done on time.

It improves team productivity and control of day to day operations by providing a centralized system for managing projects, work assignments and other key business information, and works in conjunction with users' everyday business tools.

“There are multiple project and task management applications out there, but they don‟t give organizations what they need,” said Ed Robinson, Chief Executive Officer of ActionThis. “Project management tools help people plan, but they don‟t help drive the completion of tasks. Similarly, collaboration applications help us work together, but don‟t drive activity or business outcomes. ActionThis takes the best of these capabilities, and adds workflow and business intelligence to help people execute – to finish what they start.”

ActionThis helps organizations achieve business outcomes sooner by increasing the effectiveness of peoples' actions. The service comprises a centralised web-based service that is used for managing projects and action items (often called tasks); and adds collaboration features built into Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook extensions for assigning and receiving action items and two-way synchronisation with Microsoft Project.

The integration with Microsoft Outlook ensures information workers can manage action items alongside regular email, minimising training and support costs.

ActionThis builds on these core services to deliver features that ensure action items are completed – including reporting, alerts and workflow.

The service has been designed for small businesses and teams within larger businesses.

In addition to helping teams of 10-50 people work together more effectively, ActionThis is suited for dispersed teams, and companies that work with third party vendors. Members of the service can send action items to outside parties and those parties can still participate in the process, even if they are not ActionThis subscribers.

Users will find ActionThis in several versions, including a free, web-only version for single users.
