AnyDATA CDMA and WiFi router available
Advanced Portable Technologies (1994) Ltd is introducing the AnyDATA AWR-500D combined CDMA EVDO Rev A and WiFi router with 4 port Ethernet switch to the local market.

The AWR-500D is a flexible Ethernet and wireless (802.11b/g) product providing instant internet access anywhere there is CDMA coverage. Simply power up the AWR-500D, set up its simple to use security features, and lock the network down to your personal settings to instantly create a Wi/Fi hot spot anywhere there is CDMA coverage.

Additionally the AWR-500D features removable antennas and industry standard SMA connectors allowing the use of high gain antennas to increase the coverage footprint.

This is the second generation CDMA router from Advanced Portable Technologies, the addition of WiFi and EVDO RevA support brings increased versatility to users wanting an alternative to the current offerings in the market.

The four port Ethernet and WiFi connectivity offers an excellent alterative to 3G USB modems that only support use of a single PC, especially in locations where DSL and other 'fixed line' technologies are unavailable or simply not practical.

'New Zealand is the first country to launch the EVDO RevA version of the AWR-500D and we are very proud to be able to bring such an innovative and unique product to market' said Gary Rogers, General Manager of Advanced Portable Technologies. He added, 'Our first generation EVDO router sold in its thousands, we have listened to our customers and with the awesome hardware engineering from AnyDATA and local software development by APT we are able to release a product that has been built specifically to suit the needs of the New Zealand market.'

The AWR-500D is available now for a recommended retail price of NZ$599.00 including GST.
