O2 launch xmail, a mobile e-mail and office service.

Posted on 1-May-2003 07:49 | Filed under: News

By the description in their website, the xmail is another desktop redirector: load a program in your computer, leave it on and access from anywhere.

The xmail gives you access to your business email and calendar, contacts etc on an xda, O2 mobile or via a PC, requiring no involvement from IT to set it up.

The service provides access to email (read, reply, forward and delete), company directory, work calendar and attachments to e-mails. The user installs a program in his/her computer and a client in the xda (Pocket PC). Then leave the computer connected to the company's network, and it can be accessed from the Pocket PC, xda, WAP mobile or laptop while out of the office.

This technology is supplied by Seven. The product is also available for users of other operators like Cingular, Orange and Sprint by visiting the Seven website.
