Posted on 12-Aug-2008 13:57 | Filed under: News

Computer manufacturer Dell will answer questions from reporters and customers in real-time online during a global news conference Tuesday 12th August 2008 9am PDT unveiling the company’s new generation of mobility products.

Users of the free social networking and micro-blogging service Twitter will be able to ask questions about Dell’s new products and the company will “tweet” the answers. Tweets are text-based posts up to 140 characters in length.

Reporters and customers on Twitter can direct questions during the news conference to @Digital_Nomads. Dell will also blog about the Global Mobility Event at Direct2Dell.

Dell is among the first major companies to offer reporters and customers the opportunity to ask questions on Twitter during a live news conference. The company will provide live updates online from the event in San Francisco, and from media events in London and New Delhi, India.

The Live event will feature demonstration of a new generation of designs, extreme power-efficiency and connectivity that will allow users to work anytime, anywhere.

Dell executives on hand for interviews include: Jeff Clarke (senior vice president, Dell Product Group), Margaret Franco ( director, Commercial Notebooks), Steve Belt (vice president, Business Client Engineering), Ken Musgrave (director, Commercial Experience Design Group). Also joining live from London via satellite uplink will be Mark Jarvis (Chief Marketing Officer).
