Xiocom Wireless Acquires New Zealand-based RoamAD
Xiocom Wireless, Inc., a global provider of integrated wireless broadband solutions, announced today the acquisition of RoamAD, including its brand, trademarks, intellectual property and patents.

RoamAD was founded in 2001 and, prior to its acquisition by Xiocom, supplied next-generation metro Wi-Fi, highway Wi-Fi and campus Wi-Fi networks as well public safety networks for CCTV and video surveillance. RoamAD wireless nodes are WiMAX backhaul agnostic with upcoming support for 802.11n MIMO.

Xiocom Wireless is a global provider of integrated wireless broadband solutions. The company’s XioSphere platform offers a range of flexible services that substantially reduces the cost to design, deploy and manage broadband wireless networks.

"The global market for wireless broadband solutions continues to grow as the need for connected businesses and communities increases in the developing markets," said Jeff Spence, CEO of Xiocom. "We are pleased to reach this agreement with RoamAD as their software platform, international presence and entrepreneurial spirit will enhance our ability to serve developing markets with relevant and valuable broadband services."

The strategic acquisition of the RoamAD platform brings to Xiocom an industry-leading router and network management technology for wireless broadband networks. The integration of RoamAD and Xiocom technologies enables a more cost-effective and rapid deployment of wireless broadband networks globally.

"I am very excited to join Xiocom, a company with the team, vision and resources to build upon the success that RoamAD has achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for our customers and partners," said Martyn Levy, former CEO of RoamAD. "We look forward to serving them with continued excellence as we advance with Xiocom."

In completing this acquisition, "Xiocom enhances the way we serve our partners and customers around the globe. Customers demand a robust set of voice, video and mobility solutions and the RoamAD solution accelerates our ability to efficiently deliver these solutions in underserved communities," said Steve Erdman, Xiocom’s Senior Vice President, Global Business Development. "We are very fortunate to have Martyn Levy and his team joining Xiocom."
