Sony launches new mini laptop W Series
Sony has today announced its first netbook - the VAIO W-series, which will be available in white, pink and brown. The VAIO W-series comes in handy anytime and sits beautifully anywhere in the house.

The company says it works well for people who while watching TV or reading a magazine experienced the urge to look up something on the internet.

The high resolution (1366 x 768) 10.1” LED-backlit display is in 16:9 widescreen, so web browsing experience is optimised, cutting out the need to scroll sideways.

With its head-turning style, portability, and colour matched carrying case, this is one stylish accessory you’d be happy to be seen with. Do emails and instant messaging without your fingers feeling cramped thanks to the well-spaced and responsive keys. The dimpled palm rest resists stains and finger prints.

With a built-in webcam and microphone it is easy for you to video chat anywhere in the house you can get wireless internet.

The Sony W-series includes features such as Intel Atom Processor N280, 160GB hard disk drive, 1GB RAM and Windows XP Home.

With a recommended retail price of NZ$1299, the VAIO W-series will be available in New Zealand from Sony Style and selected Sony retailers from mid August 2009.
