Datacraft is first-to-market as a Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) partner in New Zealand. VMware, Cistco and EMC are behind the VCE initiative that aims to accelerate clients’ ability to increase business agility through greater IT infrastructure flexibility, and lower IT, energy and real estate costs through pervasive data centre virtualisation and a transition to private cloud infrastructures.
With the introduction of Vblock Infrastructure Packages, the Virtual Computing Environment coalition will provide clients with an approach to streamlining and optimising IT strategies around private clouds. Vblock Infrastructure Packages are fully integrated, tested, validated, and ready-to-go/ready-to-grow infrastructure packages that combine virtualisation, networking, computing, storage, security, and management technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware with end-to-end vendor accountability.
The qualitifcation means that Datacraft has presales, professional services and support capabilities to simplify the client engagement.
“The Private Cloud model will drive the future enterprise IT,” says Robin Hartendorp, Managing Director of Datacraft New Zealand. “Through the VCE coalition, Datacraft has gained pole position to enable New Zealand organisations to leverage the best technologies and integration methodologies to create flexible IT systems that align with their business needs”.
Locally, Datacraft have made a significant investment in VCE technologies which are housed in their Wellington offices and the company enjoys trusted relationships with each member of the coalition.
“Leveraging our relationship with Datacraft is essential to making this global strategy a success here in New Zealand,” says Geoff Lawrie, Country Manager of Cisco New Zealand.
EMC’s New Zealand Country Manager Robin Whitaker echoed Lawrie’s comments.
“EMC is extremely supportive of Datacraft as a key VCE partner for delivering Vblock solutions that offer choice, flexibility and cost advantages for cloud-bound New Zealand organisations,” says Whitaker. “We have to move on from complex, power intensive and costly data centres to holistic solutions that enterprise clients can simply switch-on to gain immediate efficiency benefits.”
“Datacraft’s pedigree is in the design, build and management of enterprise class networks,” continues Lawrie. “With the team Datacraft has brought on board to focus on data centre solutions, they are ideally placed to help our mutual clients achieve that vision”.
“Datacraft’s skill is to understand the client environment and present the offerings that make sense for each client”.
Baynham has received strong feedback from CIOs about the powerful cloud computing offering.
“Organisations continue to recognise the cost and efficiency savings that virtualised cloud computing environments deliver,” says Baynham. “However the most compelling factor for CIOs is the ability to quickly align IT to specific business needs with ease”.
