Renaissance has announced the appointment of Guy McKee to the position of General Manager Apple Products.

“Our Apple sales have grown significantly over the last year and we are delighted to have someone of Guy’s experience to drive our Apple business and help develop innovative solutions with our customers. Guy has worked across so many sectors of the industry: retail, the reseller channel, distribution, solution sales, consulting, engineering and services and has a proven record of delivering value to those different industries”, said Richard Webb, Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Group.

An experienced business technologist, McKee is a graduate of Auckland and Massey Universities with qualifications in science, engineering and management. Over the past 20 years he has worked in leadership, technical, marketing and sales roles in organisations including Statistics NZ, Lion Nathan, Fujitsu, CLEAR Communications and Telecom New Zealand.

A long time member of the international Internet Society, McKee was involved in the introduction of CompuServe, Telecom XTRA and ZFREE to New Zealand. More recently he has been involved in developing IP voice cloud services, mobile billing systems, mobile device roadmaps and mobile network vendor management.

McKee has been an Apple fan for many years. “I started my Apple journey in the 1980’s with a Newton MessagePad while at the same time I learned Unix on mainframes, mini systems and desktops. It’s exciting to see the device, OSX, iOS4 and Internet stories coming together in such a compelling way,” said McKee.
