Unlimited Potential's Wellington to the World event for ICT innovators will be held on Thursday, November 18, during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The annual technology showcase began in 2008 and provides a stepping stone for technology entrepreneurs and ICT researchers from around the Wellington region to share ideas and mingle with local angel investors.
Unlimited Potential Chairperson, Paul Spence, said through the generous support of Wellington City Council, Grow Wellington and Viclink this year's event has grown to accommodate the proliferation of software entrepreneurship that is going on across the region. "We have a cool new venue, some excellent speakers plus a demo zone for young tech companies", he said.
Viclink spokesperson Linda Palmer-Scott said the event provided an opportunity for academics and researchers to engage with entrepreneurs and test their ideas. "Viclink supported this event from day one because we think it's important to encourage cross-pollination between business and academia".
She said the event has already borne fruit with at least one Victoria University project securing angel funding in 2009.
