New premium VAIO range offers something for everyone
Sony New Zealand today announced a new VAIO range, including the VAIO C series, an eye-catching design utilising light emitting plastic, and S series, providing up to 12 hours of battery life (with extended battery).

The new VAIO C Series is a PC available in a range of vibrant colours (pictured) and made from unique materials. The new 14" and 15.5” VAIO C Series is designed to provide powerful computing performance.

The first notebook of its kind, the VAIO C Series features ‘light emitting’ plastic which absorbs ambient ultra-violet light through its flat surfaces and creates a glow effect along edges of the translucent PC lid and other surfaces. For users who like to customise their technology, a colourful array of Bluetooth wireless mice and keyboard skins are available to mix and match with the VAIO C Series.

Other key product features include built-in HD web camera, backlit keyboard and ambient light sensor, AMD Radeon 1GB Hybrid Graphics card, Intel Core i5 processor, 320GB HDD and 4GB RAM.

The 13.3” VAIO S Series is ideal for business professionals looking for ultra mobile and powerful computing on the road. Slim and stylish, the 1.72kg notebook is travel-friendly and features a smart battery concept that provides users with up to 12 hours of battery life on one charge, when using the extended battery.

Similar to a book, even with the extended battery in place, the VAIO S Series features a “full flat” design, enhancing its portability and robustness. Intuitive new technology enables power to be drawn from the external battery first, and once drained the VAIO intuitively reverts back to the internal battery. Notebook users can also conveniently detach and charge the external battery independently, without having to first shut down their notebook.

Other features include Dynamic Hybrid Graphic System for balanced performance and battery life, fast Boot and quick web access for increased productivity.

Weighing in at only 1.46kg and sporting a compact and slim 11.6” chassis, the VAIO Y Series portable notebook is ideal for frequent travellers. With the new AMD APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) technology on board, the notebook provides enough power for everyday computing and gaming, multitasking, content editing and online High Definition content streaming. The AMD APU also benefits from having lower power consumption enabling the VAIO Y Series to reach up to four hours battery life.

The Y Series also allows others to easily see and enjoy content through the use of the convenient HDMI output which makes work presentations and image sharing possible.

Key product features are the AMD Dual-Core APU E-350 (1.60 GHz), HDMI output and isolated recessed keyboard for comfortable typing.

Sony’s first 3D notebook, the new VAIO F Series, is designed for consumers looking for the ultimate in mobile entertainment and functionality. Featuring state of the art technologies and an elegant design, the 3D notebook delivers a superior viewing experience.

The VAIO F Series Full HD 3D display is based on the frame sequential method with 3D Active Shutter glasses - the same as those used with BRAVIA LCD 3D TVs - delivering a bright and crisp 3D picture. The notebook has a built-in 3D transmitter and comes with a pair of 3D Active Shutter glasses.

The notebook features a 3D button, which allows users to convert 2D images, videos and games into amazing 3D experiences. 3D images and video, captured with Sony’s new range of Cyber-shot digital cameras or Handycam camcorders, can also be uploaded and viewed on the VAIO F Series.

In addition to 3D viewing, the notebook packs a Quad Core Intel Core i7 processor and the latest high-performance NVIDIA GeForce graphics with DX11.

The Sony Vaio F Series comes with 16.0” Full HD LED Backlit LCD display, realistic surround sound with S-Force Front Surround 3D and Inbox bass-reflex speakers, and a pair of 3D Active Shutter glasses included.
