Posted on 21-Nov-2011 12:55 | Tags Filed under: News

Datastor today announced its agreement with Symantec to be the first authorised distributor to sell the Symantec.cloud solutions in New Zealand. The arrangement recognises Datastor’s proven expertise in Symantec solutions and the company’s skills in delivering differentiated services to resellers.

Datastor has been authorised to distribute the full range of Symantec.cloud offerings enabling Datastor to provide cloud-based security and archiving solutions to resellers throughout New Zealand.

“Being the first to distribute Symantec.cloud solutions in the New Zealand channel uniquely positions us as a distributor of best in class cloud services – an area we believe will become an important part of the future of the channel. We chose to work with the Symantec.cloud team because they combine cutting-edge technology with industry-leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and 24x7 service and support,” said Dave Rosenberg, managing director, Datastor.

The growing SaaS market across Australia and New Zealand is transforming how customers choose to address their security, IT and information management challenges. This shift creates new opportunities for partners to generate recurring revenue streams and gain insight into customer operations through the management of their IT environments.

“Symantec is a channel focused company and we rely on our partner relationships to deliver high-value solutions to protect and manage our customers’ critical information,” said Nigel Mendonca, director,
Channels, Symantec.cloud, Asia Pacific and Japan. “Datastor was selected for Symantec.cloud because of its proven expertise in our solutions and its experience in the New Zealand channel.”

“We are continuing to grow and expand our portfolio of SaaS services by bringing more of Symantec’s technologies to the cloud to offer customers flexibility of choice and increased service manageability. We have a long standing and very successful relationship with Datastor and this agreement will enable both companies to build, strengthen and leverage their respective partner bases,” added Mendonca.

“The new Symantec.cloud partnership is an endorsement of our successful relationship with Symantec, as well as our industry experience in providing Symantec solutions. We are looking forward to integrating the offering into our cloud marketplace,” Rosenberg concluded.
