Following the successful launch of the SKY Apple app, SKY is making an Android version available for download now. The SKY Android app includes a set of useful features around SKY’s TV guide including the ability to remote record to MY SKY decoders.
Mobile access to the extensive listing information for all SKY and free to air channels will benefit all TV viewers in NZ, including SKY’s more than 846,000 customers.
Once downloaded to an Android mobile device the SKY app delivers many useful features to enhance TV viewing. MY SKY subscribers can remotely record television shows to their decoders at home, or book a recording of SKY Box Office Movies or SKY ARENA events. Users can also set reminder alerts for favourite programmes and create their own personal guide helping them quickly locate their favourite programmes on their favourite channels. Content can also be easily shared through social media, email or SMS.
One of the most popular features of the Apple app, which has been downloaded more than 210,000 times to date, is the search functionality. Android users will be able to search for a programme on every channel through their portable device with no interruption to television viewing.
John Fellet, SKY Chief Executive said, “The popularity of the SKY Apple app exceeded our expectations, it is obvious TV viewers enjoyed great benefits from it. Many customers have told us they are waiting for an Android app, so I’m delighted to announce its launch today. It delivers extra value to SKY customers by making TV viewing even more convenient”.
The SKY Television Android app launches today and it is free.
