Posted on 11-Jun-2003 00:25 | Tags Filed under: News

Infowave announced an agreement with T-Mobile International, to launch T-Mobile’s new Instant E-mail service, a wireless e-mail service for smartphone devices powered by Infowave’s Symmetry suite of mobile messaging solutions, to the UK market.

Infowave’s Symmetry suite offers simple, easy-to-use wireless e-mail capabilities to a wide range of smart devices including Symbian, Microsoft Smartphone, Pocket PC and Palm powered handhelds. The Symmetry suite provides instant and intuitive access to personal and corporate e-mail including POP3, Hotmail and Microsoft Exchange. As a software-based solution, Symmetry delivers “push” e-mail functionality automatically to a user’s device. The Symmetry solution is powered by Infowave’s Symmetry Mobile Application Gateway, a services platform that allows mobile operators to offer wireless data solutions to consumer and business subscribers.

“Our agreement with T-Mobile clearly validates the strength of a rich-client e-mail solution for integrated wireless devices and smartphones,” said Bill Tam, Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Infowave. “T-Mobile continues to be a leader in providing comprehensive messaging solutions to their customers. By leveraging the features of our Symmetry products, T-Mobile’s subscribers will enjoy the convenience of reading and responding to e-mail messages using the device of their choice.”

Powered by Infowave, T-Mobile Instant E-mail is a new service offering that allows T-Mobile’s customers to have their personal e-mail delivered automatically to their mobile device. The service is based on Infowave’s Symmetry Express solution and works across a range of device platforms including the Sony/Ericsson P800, Nokia 7650 and the Nokia 3650 smartphones.

For mobile customers, the solution offers flexibility, speed and security. Users on the move can send and receive messages instantly without having to dial in. This allows them to immediately read, answer, send or store e-mails. It is the ultimate in easy-to-use, push e-mail solutions.
