Posted on 13-Aug-2012 12:27 | Filed under: News

The International Mobile Innovation Screening 2012 is being organised by Mobile Innovation Network Aotearoa (MINA) and will showcase short films produced on and with mobile devices by international filmmakers at the National Film Archive in Wellington, NZ, 23rd November 2012.

The event is happening during the Massey Blow Creative Art Festival in Wellington.

Selected mobile films will be featured in the IdN (International designers’ Network) Magazine v19n6 issue DVD. The MINA program is curated by Laurent Antonczak, Karen Curley, Benoît Labourdette and Dr. Max Schleser.

MINA is also planning the two day 2nd International Mobile Creativity and Mobile Innovation Symposium 23rd-25th November 2012, also during the Massey Blow Creative Art Festival.

The symposium will provide a platform for filmmakers, artists, designers, researchers and industry professionals to debate the prospect of wireless, mobile and ubiquitous technologies in art and design environments and the creative industries. MINA expects and invites paper proposals relating (but not limited) to; mobile lens media, mobile video production, mobile documentaries, mobile network and transmedia, mobile communities, mobile media and social change, mobile visual arts, mobile locative media, citizen journalism, mobile visual literacy, mobile media in education and mobile technologies and civic media.

International designers' Network (IdN) is an international publication for creative people on a mission to amplify and unify the design community. It is devoted to bringing designers from around the globe together to communicate with, learn from and inspire one another. It has truly become what the initials of its title proclaim it to be — an international designers' network.

Producers are invited to submit mobile films by the 15th September 2012.
