Gen-i today announced it will release its SEEMail (Secure Electronic Environment Mail) Version 3.0 upgrade this month, replacing the current SEEMail Version 2.0 standard and providing MailMarshal SES as a locally hosted cloud option. SEEMail provides encryption to protect emails as they are transmitted between member gateways across the internet.
The upgrade will ensure Gen-i’s Safecom offering complies when a Government security requirement for the SEEMail v3.0 standard comes into force on 5th December.
Gen-i will deliver SEEMail v3.0 both on-site and via the locally hosted cloud platform, using Trustwave’s MailMarshal SES. MailMarshal is currently utilised by over 50,000 users within 50 Government and corporate client organisations.
Gen-i is working proactively with clients to provide a smooth migration to the new service.
Leanne Buer, Gen-i Head of Networked ICT Products, says SEEMail v3.0 will enhance Gen-i’s Safecom offering by adding an improved level of security, supported by MailMarshal’s ease of use and Gen-i’s outsourcing capabilities and managed services.
“Safecom is a proven, future-proofed suite of services that delivers increased productivity and eliminates the need for capital investments in infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. While we provide the overarching solution, our clients are able to make all the decisions on the specifics, including policies, profiles and reporting structure.
Now those organisations using MailMarshal SES as their in-house SEEMail v3.0 solution can access the same solution via our locally hosted cloud.”
