Symbian likely to lead Smartphone OS market through end of decade, says research company

In a market that is still driven by proprietary OS, on the order of 98% this year, Symbian, Microsoft and Linux are fighting over a small portion of the total handset market. But 2% of handsets shipped still amount to about 10 million handsets a year. And ABI Research predicts that Smartphones and connected PDAs will represent nearly a quarter of all handsets shipped by 2009.
Trade-in promotion for HP iPAQ Pocket PC customers

HP is offering customers a cash-back offer of $50 or more toward the purchase of a new HP iPAQ h1940 or h2210 series Pocket PC when they trade in an old PDA through 10 July 2004. Offer include software for Mac OS sync if Mac-based Palm users use the trade-in.
