I have reciently purchased the MPx220 mobile phone. and for several days have not been able to get the GPRS and WAP connections working for Vodafone NZ.

Vodafone were able to supply there technical detals to there network as specified in the web site listed. http://www.vodafone.co.nz/vlive/vlive_specifications.jsp

But still i am unable to get the systems workings.

Can anybody help with this.

Thanks

Martyn

The page is correct... You have to check with Vodafone to be sure your account allows GPRS, and sending/receiving MMS. If this is ok, here is the configuration I have on my MPx220 (I only use GPRS and MMS, so no WAP):

Start | Settings | More | Data Connections

Internet: automatic
Work: automatic
WAP: automatic
Secure WAP: automatic
WAP Proxy: automatic
MMS: Voda MMS

Menu | Edit Connections | GPRS Connections

1 Internet, Connects to The Internet, Access Point www.vodafone.net.nz

2 Voda MMS, Connects to MMS Network, Access Point live.vodafone.com

Start | MMS Settings

Connect via MMS Network

Menu | MMSC Settings

Vodafone PXT, MMSC URL http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend, WAP Gateway 172.30.38.3, Port 9201

That's what I have and I can send and receive MMS, plus connect to GPRS for synchronisation to Exchange Server and Pocket Internet Explorer browsing.

Thank you for the reply.

I have been on the phone all day with Vodafone in attempting to connect to the WAP network and GPRS network, still with no sucess.

It is my understanding that i require WAP to obtain Ringtones etc.

Thank you for your advice.

I currently have the phone configured as you have with no sucess.

I will return to the supplier and try another unit and see if i have a faulty unit.

Many thanks

Martyn

PS i will let you know if i get it working.
