Hi All,

My name is Powel Crosley and I have been utilising the Broadband forum from time to time to help me during intermittent problems with Telecom as an ISP (imagine that).

I work (in Auckland) with a charity dedicated to raising research funding to help women battling a rare form of ovarian cancer, granulosa cell tumour of the ovary.

Now I have registered because I have an urgent need for assistance of a different sort, and I apologise for the blatant nature of this post but it is for charity.

As you may be aware, Telecom has opened a website called www.charityvote.co.nz to decide on 4 charities which will receive funding from them as an "apology" for the email stuff-up last month.

The problem we (the foundation) have is that we are both small and new and while we are working to accomplish big things we do not have a big footprint.  We are registered with both the Charities Commission and IRD as a charity with all related tax benefits for donors (in case you'd like to donate on your own).

So we need your help as a write-in candidate!

If you have an Xtra e-mail address you can vote.

Go to www.charityvote.co.nz, click on Click to Vote then enter your email address and specify "gctf.org.nz" as the charity.

Thanks for your help and I hope you never have need for our support and services!

You just got mine too!

Good luck with the voting!

To the rest of the Geekzoners - why not give your vote to a small charity like this?

Mauricio and Tony,

I am humbled by your support for our efforts to find an effective therapy for women affected by this cancer!

I forgot to add that any donation (including Telecom's hopefully) goes 100% into research at Auckland University.

Absolutely 0 overhead.

Thanks again, mates!

Got my vote.
And I hope you get many more votes for taking such intiative and reaching me here in the depths of Geekzone.

I can also assure you that I will not personally need the services your charity offers.

Thanks
