I've been asked to find a laptop for an employee who will be travelling to show customers products and information.
The laptop therefore must be portable/light, however cannot be netbook size, as this is useless for showing people content on a screen. Im thinking standard 15.4" size.
It will need to have mobile broadband, im thinking Telecom XT when it launches, since this hopefully means high speed around the country. This probably means a USB stick but built in is always a possibility.
Graphics capability isn't important. Budget is approx $2000. No other features required really, though i suppose battery life might be a factor.

Cheers.

I'd go a netbook for this solution, light and powerful?

Yes that was my first thought.
But then the two things against it; one is that its going to be for showing potential customers content on the screen, and i can't guarantee all of them are going to have great eyesight.
The second thing is that typing on a netbook from brief experience feels a bit cumbersome compared to a normal keyboard, but this is from personal preference (my hands are below average in size).
Still open to suggestions on it though.

Hi there,

This might help.

I posted this on another thread, and that thread might contain something helpful

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=37&topicid=30704

I've recently upgraded the battery and now get 6 hours (ish)

----

I read a review of the following netbooks, and went and got an Acer Aspire One.

A review of the following netbooks is at: http://www.laptopmag.com/mobile-life/10-inch-netbook-faceoff.aspx

Samsung NC10
MSI Wind U100
Lenovo IdeaPad S10
HP Mini 1000
ASUS Eee PC 1000H

and the Acer Aspire One Review is at: http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/acer-aspire-one-10-inch.aspx

I havn't used a Toshiba NB100 but it gets some pretty mixed reviews online (some people luv it, some people really .. really don't like it)
