So was she actually in the container when it hit the water?

Does the toddler really drive the Hyundai and go surfing after he's picked up his chick?

Cool ads nevertheless

Very cool ad, I would've thought there would be some damage on the container with that drop though...

This is one of the ads they showed us during the media launch last week.

But instead of going in the middle of the forest or park, she should have tried walking inside Lower Hutt Queensgate Mall, where there's no CDMA coverage at the moment.

Is XT better there? I haven't tried, haven't been there since I got my XT SIM...

This would explain my frequent "Failed to Send" messages I have been getting lately while in Queensgate. Usually its fine apart from when in the concrete bunker known as Woolworths in the mall.

Pretty funny how they just had to mention dropped calls on the Auckland Harbor Bridge.

It's actually quite impressive that dropped calls on the harbour bridge has been turned into such a issue, it's actually a competitive advantage! I remember laughing outloud when I saw the rough greenscreen cut for this ad a while ago :)

Im still amazed that Vodafone let it get this far, how someone in the ranks of Vodafone didn't just simply get this sorted, I've heard all sorts of reasoning from Vodafone over the years from Sales reps to GZ'ers VF radio engineers explaining in detail why this cannot be fixed.

I've never been convinced that getting coverage for the full length of the harbour bridge was going to be the 8th wonder of the world, but Vodafone seemed ingrained into it's culture to believe it.

Or perhaps Vodafone are right, and Telecom's press release about them having 'world class radio engineers' is more true than anyone could ever imagine, and right before our very eyes a Discovery crew are now filming this modern wonder of the technological world.

Both Telecom CDMA and Vodafone coverage is terrible down that entire end of the mall, VF is significantly worse than CDMA.

I wouldn't expect XT to be significantly different to the existing CDMA performance as the panel is on the same site and like VF the issue is primarily that the site sectorisation means no panel is directly facing that area of the mall.

2degrees have great coverage!

I see there's a 'making of' The Big Drop on the reskinned testdrive.co.nz site which explains this

I think it's a pretty cool ad really.
A bit off topic - but are people who are using XT finding coverage to be as good as claimed? Better than Tcom CDMA and VF?
