Been meaning to post this for a few days now. Anyway, better late than never.

If like I was, you have been afflicted with the issue of incoming texts having an incorrect year, i.e. time, day, month are correct, but instead of year being 2010, it shows as 2016 - I have sucessfully implemented the work-around patch at http://www.wmexperts.com/y2016-sms-bug. Running Telecom (HTC) Titan with WM6.0

The above article suggests it only affects WM6.1 and 6.5, but obviously not true in my case.

Do you see 2016 in the Messaging application, or on the Today plugins only?

Thanks. Interesting, I have a few devices here (AT&T LG eXpo, HTC Snap, HTC Touch Dual, Acer F900) and didn't this see this in any of these devices...

Some suggestion that it has affected devices on CDMA networks only and it is down to the date being passed by the carriers SMS gateway. The workaround patch in the link above simply sets incoming texts to use the local device time for incoming messages rather than the gateway time.

Basically, it's a problem that is with Windows Mobile OS and the fix will have to come from Microsoft.

Yes, it's something that Microsoft needs to work on - and how exactly will they send out a patch is the problem, since they still have to go through the OEM and in some cases operators.

But, unlike the name in the page, it's not *all* Windows Phones.
