Works for me, check your firewall settings, otherwise use PASSIVE mode.

Thanks Jama...

ftp D/L worked for me.
Is it worth the upgrade for anything other than the push email?
I'm already using microsoft voice commander for instance which is a useful feature.

What are your thoughts freitasm?

Cheers

Yes - it is worth it, there are a large number of fixes to the OS and to the phone side of things.

Thanks for hosting the file Jama.

After the update general responsiveness and startup time seems to be improved. Also Smart dialer and screen lock is also useful.

Fixed - I have tried from command line and using Fliezilla. Both work now.

Was the server slashdotted?

next thing to get onto is improving the battery life of this ruddy device!

I've been using a program called xcpuscaler in the hope that it might help improve battery life but I'm not sure how good it is at helpin improve things.
And then dropping the backlight off as much as possible blar blar.
I imagine the push email will drain the living daylights out of the battery.

Oh the life of a gadget geek! And add to that I tried out windoze vista last night for fun, VISTA is right! I spent the night gazing at the wall in a far off kinda way being put to sleep by all the candy.

Go linux!

Cheers

Also make sure you turn the IR Beam off - it's a battery drainer.

No, Direct Push won't use that much battery. But make sure to turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi if you are not using these resources. And any program that do automatic updates over the network, such as Weather plugins, etc. And those pesky plugins for Today screen that keep telling you how much memory is free on the SD card - you don't need that, is not like you are filling those 1GB any time soon, is it? That drains battery too.

Download a ftp program such as FlashFXP. I had to put flashfxp into non-passive mode to download it.

It could be the server playing up again. It happened before. I tried now and it's very slow - almost unresponsive. And I have connected to it yesterday.

But try again - I managed to get in.
