The Geekzone crew and friends are planning a trip to Sydney to attend the CeBIT Australia 2009 and we'd like to see you there - join us visiting the exhibition and then for dinner and drinks.

Registrations for the CeBIT open in January, and the event happens 12th - 14th May 2009. Because this is an international event I think you should have an early notice to start planning for it.

Thanks to Air New Zealand we will be able to draw a couple of return tickets to Sydney - we will open a competition in early 2009 for this, so keep an eye on this discussion to know when we announce the contest.

If you are planning to come please reply to this thread so we have an idea of numbers for dinner/drinks.

Thanks to Air New Zealand and Telecom New Zealand for their support!

PS. Yes, we are looking for sponsors!
PS. Make sure you register for CeBIT now to get free entry!

I have booked the same flights and also am a Koru member if others would like to join.

Any particular accommodation / hotel in mind ? I have previously lived in Sydney, so know what a number of places are like.

I'm heading over Monday for a night or 2 with family, then a couple of nights in town. Probably heading Sydney -> Melbourne on the Friday then a couple of nights in Melbourne, back from Melbourne on Sunday.

Flying AirNZ of course . . .

Just booked hotel in Sydney for CeBIT. At $95/night for Rydges World Square you can't go wrong. Price ends 8th March and you have to buy the tokens before booking. Right now still have about 30 rooms available for CeBIT dates.
