Actually I heard it first in the thread opened a minute before this one... But if you mean GZ, then yes, first place I heard it ;]

Will be interesting to see what they do with it specs-wise, currently the iPhone isn't a patch on the N95/N82, will be interesting to see how much ground they make up...

And I can confirm we will be offering the iPhone later this year.

No other details are available at the moment though.

Cheers

Actually not the first place I heard it, but good to see it here :)

There's ten countries in total lucky enough to get it:

New Zealand, Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, South Africa and Turkey.

Visual Voicemail to play with - gotta love new toys ;)

You were quick Paul! :-)

I was going to beat you all to it and do a blog post on Friday but everybody at VFNZ that I knew was denying it - obviously because they didn't know either!

3G iPhone would really increase uptake as it's very data focused.

This would really win over many corporate users (dragging them in with SIM locks).

I would wonder... will a future iPhone update allow Vodafone SIMs in existing iPhones? (though I think that wouldn't happen, and only apply to 3G iPhones)

Funny, we were just discussing in the office today whether telecom would try and get it and the implications of that (ie, not being able to use it) so its great news we have. I'll have to try and wangle a 'demo model' to use for a few months when it comes out ... purely for testing purposes of course.

it takes what one programme and 3 clicks to unlock.  Takes one click to have it back to phone that can be warranty repaired.  Sim-locked iphones are no problem

Vodafone handsets are going to be locked anyway. But i'm sure it can be unlocked once it's released. I'm betting it's going to be cheaper to get it from US rather than from Vodafone.

I have totally steered clear of the 2G Jesus phone, but if the 3G is not missing any fundamental functionality, I would be quite interested.

Good coup for Vodafone, will win many hearts belong to small and large decision makers alike.
