Sorry, I think I see where the confusion lies at my end.

I've interpeted 'Tethering' as the ability to use my phone's data plan (whether that be the base 250mb, 3gb under the promotion or whatever else is available around the corner).

I understand in some markets end users pay extra for the ability to tether (although this may be bundled with extra data). I guess my question is will I still be able, irrespective of my total included monthly data allowance, get online via iPhone tethering?

That aside, stoked about the extension and loving the fact this was applied to all of existing customers too.

Keep up the good work! :)

Sweet... Definitely not planning to treat tethered data different, as far as I know.

Cheers

Paul

Ah, the tethering bit confused me as well. All good, thanks.

Is the "Something else" this extension till the end of October or is that still to come after this extension?

This component model that is talked about here sounds a bit like XT's component model. (Not complaining by the way :P)

After the extension period we will be launching a permanent solution... not sure of the timing around that yet however.

I'm going to say we thought of it first and Telecom's copying us... I'm sure I'll be corrected shortly if I'm wrong. ;-)

So basically, the extension wasnt planned? its just because this 'permanent solution' isn't perfected yet ready for release?

Ah, I take it you don't work with Marketing...

Let's just say once Marketing gets involved all bets are off.

You see, they take these chickens and then... and with the entrails... and then...

Well, it's complicated.

This deal would be much sweeter if 3g was actually available and reliable in the Wellington CBD....

Are you saying 3G is not available in the Wellington CBD?

Expect to be called up on that one.

Yep, 3G coverage seems to drop so often that it is unusable. Lambon Quay office, direct line of sight to Voda on Midland. And it just dropped again now while I'm typing this reply.

Back on topic....

The permanent solution sounds interesting.. I'd love to be getting a bit more value than I currently am.
Lets wait and see
