First time writer long time reader,

Recently purchased a Sharp 903sh 3G phone from etown in Auckland. Great phone but I'm having serious issues getting it to connet with my computer. Purchase a USB cable for the phone, then attemped to install the drivers from CD without success, tried the same again with a download version from the net without success.

The install works right up until the point where it asks you to plug in the phone. There are a series of directions, which do not corrospond with the Hardware wizard that appear and the install then unsuccesful. Have made numerous attemps at installing the drivers manually without success. The phone does registar when plugged in and pops up at SX833. Its a real shame cause the MP3 player isn't much use without the MP3's on my computer. The only thing I can think of is that this software is not designed for Win XP SP2. Any thoughts, simalar problems of suggestions please???

Hi MoreMayo, did you have success with the link on posting from MrDT?? I seem to have same problem as you although I bought Sharp 903 phone from Vodafone then bought a USB cable off E-Bay. The driver on Sharp website does not seem to be compatible with my phone. I want to be able to transfer the photos on my Sharp phone onto my computer. Cheers!!

I use the 'File' function of Handset Manager as the 'Picture' function doesnt work for me.

my problem comes from the long delays in uploading files, ie mp3s. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi all, installed the Handset Manager and now am able to transfer photos via the USB cable as suggested by MrDT using the file function as opposed to the Picture function. Many thanks for your support.

Yes, the transfer rates are horrible. Try loading onto a SD card in the computer then put the card in the phone. Probably a lot faster even with all the mucking around.

Hi Shaun, now that I am finally up and running with the help that MrDT provided, I can say that I have noticed the transfer rates are certainly very slow. I had some photos on my camera that I downloaded to the computer and it took approx. two minutes to download a 1MB JPG file to the PC. Rather inconvenient.
