Got this email today :

What a year 2009 is shaping up to be!

At TelstraClear we are always looking at ways we can improve the services we offer New Zealanders. In the coming months we will be launching a totally new range of packages and services which will allow us to better meet our customers demands whilst continuing to offer real choice and competition in the market.

We look forward to these new advancements and passing on the benefits. Watch this space.

Ah yes, no details, "coming months", "watch this space" - all the neccesary ingredients of yet another TelstraClear fail. I predict we will still have no more information about this by May. Prove me wrong, TelstraClear.

Could be double speak for a pending price increase before Orcon and other providers get their equipment installed in unbundled Xchanges in the Wgton region.

IT's another staling-tactic that TCL has pretty much been playing out since... 2007, 2008? I'm still waiting to see about what TCL's HD-PVR solution... May'09 would be a bit optimistic for TCL to bring out anything exciting...

Like you said, prove us wrong, TCL!!!

I got it too and I have to say nothing less than 25Mbps with the same price I am paying now for the 10Mbps (80 GB) plan would make me feel "the service has improved".

10Mbs is fine for me most of the time. So a worthwhile update for me would be 80Gb for the same price I am paying for 10Mbs/40G

I get jealous when I see folks posting saying they are doing 200-300Gb on xDSL plans and playing $50 for it!  OK - could be a billing error but even so!

I also see Comcast in the US is now looking at data caps and have proposed 250Gb (unclear what happens if you exceed that). Now while the US customer might object to that, I could certainly live with is :)

I'd love to do more iTunes movie download/viewing but I don't want to blow my traffic/budget to do so though... DVD is still cheaper (sadly)...

I wonder could TCL even negotiate an agreement for free-traffic to iTunes store. And the Sky Online feature too, that could be free-traffic...
