This was my beloved backup system for many years, but, it does not support x64. There is an ocean of back-up and synchronisation software out there with a similar theme, i.e. at a certain time either a full back-up or incremental back-up or synchronisation is performed. The beauty of QuickSync is that it monitored the desired file location and made automatic versions (number of versions was user defined) as plain files (you didn't have to run restore software). Is there anything out there that has the same functionality?

You can try either Memeo Autobackup or NTI Shadow. I particularly use Goodsync though it's manual (you can automate it if you want).

Thanks, I also use GoodSync / AlwaySync for mirroring, but as you say, it's manual and even if automated it's on a time basis and does not support versioning. I'll have a look at the other two.

NTI shadow looked promising, except is created a revision once and never again. Possibly a problem with WinXP x64.

Memeo AutoSync does not support x64, any other suggestions? Prefer a job that runs as a service rather than a TSR.

I use Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery.  Works well for base and incremental backup's of machines and gives you the bare metal recovery ability for when your machine fails.

I think he's thinking of file backup, not image backup. I use Symantec BESR 8.5 on Geekzone servers, but image backup for home use Acronis will do a good job.

Thanks Mauricio, I am indeed looking for a continuous file backup (with versioning) that does not required  a restore to obtain access to the back-up files.

Have you looked at SyncBack?
I don't think the free version does archiving (i've only ever used the free version), but the SE or PRO versions do. It is 64-bit compatible.

I gave SyncBack a shot but it's not a continuous replication, do you know if SE or Pro version is continues with versions?
