Looks like Xtra's DNS is still down.
Right now I'm pretty glad I setup bind to use orsn root servers ;-)

it looks like 202.27.158.40, 202.27.156.72, alien & terminator are not digging records from other DNS servers.

This would be a good time to advertise the Open Root Server Network (orsn.org). It is a DNS root server network independant of the 'American' Internet. Simple to use too. You replace your root.hints file with orsn.hints that you download from their website.

Xtra DNS seems to be down still..... was affecting my partners laptop and will no doubt hurt the flatmates one (real big loss).

I wasn't affected as I had a DNS server running here :)

Good evening Gentlemen,

I cannot connect to the internet with Xtra so I am using my 3G mobile (Vodafone rulez!).

If you call 0800 22 55 98 then there's an automated message telling about the NATIONWIDE outage.
Here you go Telecom. Just great. No internet for 80 dollar.

After the Sky Tv misery, it's just another happy day with a NZ giant operator.
