Info on Ipaq 5555 connect to Motorola V551 !
Talk to Cingular Tech Support today Jan 10, 05
First thing first!
IPAQ Bluetooth do not stay on all the time
to save battery usage.
So that why it will connect to the Any Motorola with Cingular
and disconnect once connected. (Trying to save its battery)
Solution - Connect your IPAQ to the AC adapter or cradel
with AC power connected and make sure you change
your battery option to not to cut off when bluetooth is
on.

The problem was IPAQ Bluetooth does not stay on when
on battery power. Light might be on but it will not
keep a steady stream of bluetooth ( because the iPAQ
is trying to save Battery Life.)

That why most of all IPAQ is having the same problem
not staying connect with the motorola or with other
phone.

It took me a week to figure this Out.

Email me when it works

I struggled a bunch with the Bluetooth issues involving the Motorola V551 & h2200 iPAQ.

The final solution offered on the other thread solved my problem and the battery issue did not enter into it. And it doesn't look like it matters whether the "Wait for Dialtone" box is checked or not. I believe the real problem is the use of WAP instead of ISP in the character strings being recommended by the Motorola folks.

Here are the instructions offered on the other thread that worked great for me [note: enter everything exactly as shown because everything is character and case sensitive]...

in the phone number field, enter: *99***1#

Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

Password: CINGULAR1

Extra dial-string: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","wap.cingular"

[note: you may want to check/uncheck "Wait for dial tone" box and if you are experiencing power issues, make sure all of the power saving options are unchecked on the iPAQ.]
